How to rearrange your CRM screen

Modified on Mon, 13 Feb, 2017 at 9:28 AM

It's quite easy to update the order of fields you see on-screen in Sage CRM but you need to have access to the Administration area and be able to see the Customizations menu. If you can't see these, you'll need to speak with your in-house system administrator first to get appropriate permissions.

For this example, we'll change the field order on the Cases summary screen and remove a field we don't need:

  1. Navigate to Administration -> Customization -> Cases
  2. Select Screens & check the Inline Customization box
  3. Open an existing case record. You should find that each block on the screen has a new Customize Screen link (shown in green below)
  4. Select Customize Screen and a new window opens that lists all the fields on that screen block and their current sequence.

In this screen you can add fields from the Field list, order them using the blue up/down arrows, and use the Position list to start a new line. There's lots of other functions possible but these are the main ones.

 Let's move things around!

CAUTION: any screen changes you make affect all users. If you remove a field from the screen you haven't deleted any data from the database or from reports. This example shows the out-of-the-box setup for CRM and your personalised system may have different fields and options.

  • Select Cases: Description and move it up to second in the list. Change Position to Same Line. Update
  • Select Cases: Found In and move it down to eighth. Change Position to New Line. Update
  • Select Cases: Area and change Position to New Line. Update
  • Select Cases: Fix in and change Position to Same Line. Update
  • Select Cases: Territory and Remove
  • Select Save

Now you can review the changes you've made. If not quite right - select Customize Screen and make more adjustments. If finished, head back into the Administration menu -> Customization -> Cases -> Screens and switch off the Inline Customization feature.
